Pricing

Standard 4 hours: $60 per reservation ($15/hour)
Standard 8 hours: $100 per reservation
Frequent users (3+ times per week): $50 for 4 hours, $90 for 8 hours
Ingredient discount: $10 off a 4-hour rental when you buy a $50 Market gift card, or $20 off an 8-hour rental with a $100 gift card

What’s provided

Ovens, prep areas, tables, and chairs (approved equipment only)
Hand soap, dish soap, sanitizer, paper towels, and trash bags
3-compartment sink and dishwasher
First aid kit on site

What to bring

All ingredients, containers, utensils, and teaching supplies
Gloves, towels, extra aprons, and food storage containers
Your own cords and office supplies
Closed-toe shoes and hair restraints
For commercial use: Food Handler’s Certification and proof of liability insurance

Rental agreement

Please read before booking. You’ll sign it when you arrive.

1. Reservations

All users must read and sign the Community Kitchen Rental Agreement upon arrival.
Reservations must be made online at least 24 hours in advance.
Priority scheduling may be given to residents, member-owners, and community partners.
Users must check in with a staff member upon arrival and immediately following the conclusion of their reservation.

2. Cancellations

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

3. Eligibility

All users must provide, if applicable, proof of liability insurance and a Food Handler’s Certification (required for commercial use).
Users operating a food business must comply with all local health department regulations, permits, and inspections.

4. Hours of use

The Community Kitchen is available between 8:00am and 7:00pm.
The kitchen must be cleaned and vacated by the end of the reserved time.
Do not exceed your scheduled reservation.

5. Capacity

The maximum occupancy is 13 people.
Exceeding this capacity is a fire hazard and strictly prohibited.

6. Cleanliness & sanitation

Users are responsible for cleaning the kitchen after use.
A cleaning checklist will be provided at check-in and must be completed before departure.

7. Food & supplies

Users must bring all ingredients, containers, utensils, and supplies needed for their use.
Do not use ingredients, equipment, or supplies that you did not bring or rent.
Alcoholic beverages must have proof of purchase.
No food may be stored in the kitchen after your rental period ends.

8. Equipment use

Tables, chairs, and approved equipment are provided.
Users must bring their own cords and materials.
Only equipment specifically approved in the rental agreement may be used (e.g., ovens, mixers, refrigerators).
Any damages or equipment malfunctions must be reported immediately.
Misuse of equipment may result in fees and/or loss of future access.

9. Safety & conduct

The reserving individual must be present for the entire reservation and is responsible for all participants.
Proper kitchen attire is required, including closed-toe shoes and hair restraints.
Children and non-participants are not permitted in the kitchen during rentals.
Loud music, disruptive behavior, or profane language is not permitted.
All activity must remain within the reserved space during the reserved time.
No open flames, smoking, or vaping in the facility or within 25 feet of the building.
Unsafe practices may result in immediate termination of access.

10. Waste disposal

Separate trash, compost, and recyclables into the appropriate bins.
Do not pour grease or oil down drains; use proper disposal containers.
Leave no food scraps behind.

11. Damages & liability

The reserving party is responsible for any damages caused during their use.
Gem City Market is not liable for injury, loss, or damage to personal or business property.

12. Enforcement

Violations of this agreement may result in warnings or immediate termination of the reservation.
Additional fees may be charged to cover cleaning or damages.
Future rental privileges may be suspended or terminated.
Legal action may be taken in cases of major damage or negligence.

By reserving the Community Kitchen, users agree to comply with all guidelines outlined above.

Who can use the kitchen?

The kitchen is open to community members, instructors, and approved users. Priority may be given to residents, member-owners, and community partners.

Can I arrive early to set up?

Please book the kitchen for the full length of time you need, including setup and cleanup.

Can I use the kitchen for a food business?

Yes. You will need a Food Handler’s Certification, proof of liability insurance (if applicable), and you must follow all local health department regulations.

What are the cleanup expectations?

Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes in the 3-compartment sink; scrape food into the trash (not the sink); dry and put away all items; sanitize counters, sinks, and appliances; sweep; take trash to the outside dumpsters; and place used towels and aprons in the laundry bags. If the dishwasher is in use, run the cycle and unload it before you leave.

Can I leave food or supplies in the kitchen?

No. All food, ingredients, and supplies, including refrigerated and frozen items, must be removed at the end of your reservation.

Can alcohol be used in the kitchen?

Alcohol must have proof of purchase and may require additional approval.

What if there is an accident?

Report any accident or health concern to Market staff immediately. A first aid kit is available on site.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance using the link in your Calendly confirmation email.
